ACHAMORE GARDENS OPEN FOR THE FESTIVAL OF RHODODENDRONS

2nd April - 31st May | daily, dawn to dusk
Achamore Garden, one of the Glorious Gardens of Argyll and Bute, is a special west coast garden created on the Isle of Gigha by Sir James Horlick. The present owners of Gigha and Achamore Garden warmly welcome visitors to this very special garden. It extends to approximately 50 acres of natural woodlands and contains a large walled garden. The gardens are virtually frost free and they are full of rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias and rarer exotics plants and trees. You can explore the Island of Gigha with its beautiful sandy bays, wild flowers and birds. Recently the garden has been on a ‘care and maintenance’ basis but garden volunteers are now at work and we look to a more positive future.
