Mount Stuart - THE CAPTAIN'S COLLECTION PLAY

The Captain’s Collection, written by Hamish MacDonald and directed by Alison Peebles, is an acclaimed theatrical production performed by some of Scotland’s finest actors and traditional musicians, Alyth McCormack, Matthew Zajac, Ingrid Henderson and Jonny Hardie. Described as ‘a play afloat on music’, writer Hamish MacDonald brings to audiences the story of Captain Simon Fraser. Fraser is transported back through his turbulent existence as he is visited by the ghosts and dreams dwelling within his collection of rousing tunes and songs that lie at the heart of Scottish music. Performed in the atmospheric Marble Hall, this is a ‘must see’ performance

Mount Stuart - CHAMPAGNE NIGHT TOUR OF MOUNT STUART

As part of the popular Museums at Night Festival we are offering our visitors a unique opportunity to experience the house at its most peaceful. Your guide will lead you through the house on a specially devised route, taking in many private areas of the house. The tour will end with a champagne reception on the 4th floor balcony.

Mount Stuart - KING CREOSOTE & JON HOPKINS IN CONCERT

In support of their Mercury nominated album Diamond Mine, King Creosote and Jon Hopkins play Mount Stuart as part of a short tour of the Argyll Islands. King Creosote is the leading light in Fife’s Fence Collective and a real legend in the Scottish Indie music scene, while Jon Hopkins is best known for his work with Coldplay on their last 2 albums.
