Glorious Gardens of Argyll & Bute

Ardkinglas Woodland Garden

On the shores of Loch Fyne, set against a spectacular background of mountain and forest, Ardkinglas Woodland Garden has an outstanding collection of plants and trees. The Garden is famous for the mature champion trees (including the tallest tree in Britain and the mightiest conifer in Europe) and an exceptional collection of rhododendron. A woodland lochan, an ancient mill, a Scriptorium and a very visible and thriving population of red squirrels add to the attractions of the Garden, with a choice of several lovely walks.

A visit to Ardkinglas Woodland Garden is a perfect family day out; children sixteen years and under are free entry with a treasure trail to keep them amused. The Garden is open all the year round with wonderful displays of colour throughout the seasons. The beauty and sense of history in the Garden will appeal to all visitors and the plant collection will delight those with more specialist knowledge.

A self-catering holiday apartment is available within Ardkinglas House.

“A garden to discover - home to Champion trees and red squirrels.”
