Benmore Fernery
Posted: Mar 11 2008
Only a few Victorian ferneries have survived in Scotland. Plans are afoot to restore the fernery at Benmore Botanic Garden and give visitors a chance to see rare exotic and native ferns in a unique historic setting. The fernery will also be important for education, horticulture and scientific study; interpretation – both of the fernery’s history and restoration and of the role of ferns – will form a key element.
